Ulysee Nardin Diver X: the watches for the most dangerous regatta in the world

Ulysse Nardin, a Swiss manufacture from Le Locle, has been a pioneer since 1846 with the creation of marine chronometers. Now, with the three Diver X watches, it wants to pay homage to the skippers who took part in the Vendée Globe, the most demanding sailing regatta in the world.

Racing without any support, stops or technical assistance of any kind, skippers face freezing cold and gigantic waves as they cross the Atlantic and southern oceans to navigate solo on a course often referred to as “the Everest of the seas”.

The Diver X / Antarctica is the watch designed to reach the furthest tip of the Earth. The matte white rubber bracelet of this watch recalls the clean and austere lines of this inhospitable land, with touches of ice blue that recall the icebergs floating in the sea. The crown, lugs and back of the case, in which a UN 118 movement is integrated, are all in titanium. On the back of the watch, the maison has imprinted the itinerary of the Vendée Globe and the coordinates of the Arctic continent.

The Ulysse Nardin Diver X / Nemo Point is, instead, inspired by the Nemo Point, a position in the South Pacific Ocean, off the coast of Chile, literally in the middle of nowhere. The Diver X / Nemo, characterized by the rubber strap with blue and red stitching, is one of the most elegant and robust watches ever made by the maison. The UN-118 movement is accompanied by the black X, immediately recognizable and embossed, while on the back we find once again the Vendée Globe itinerary, in addition to the coordinates of the Nemo Point.

Finally, we have the Diver X / Cape Horn, which owes its name to one of the most insidious routes in the world. The watch is characterized by the strap with saffron yellow stitching, recalling the route of spices, and by the black DLC titanium case, with the X immediately recognizable. The UN-118 movement guarantees maximum precision in any hemisphere, while the itinerary of the Vendée Globe and the GPS coordinates of Cape Horn are stamped on the back of the case.
